Product story

Built for the Long Haul, Quiet Enough to Wear Anywhere

The Cloudmonster Void in Fog | Pearl is a shoe for people who want serious cushioning without a serious aesthetic. The cool grey and soft off-white tones read almost like a running shoe that has been washed clean of any noise, which is exactly the point. It goes with everything you already own, and it does not announce itself before you walk into the room.

Under that understated exterior sits the same CloudTec cushioning that defines the Cloudmonster line. The hollow cushioning pods compress on landing to absorb impact, then rebound to give energy back on the push-off. A Speedboard embedded through the midsole adds a subtle forward snap, so transitions feel efficient and continuous rather than soft and sluggish.

The haptic mesh upper is structured enough to support a run, but breathable and light enough for a full day of movement. TPU eyelet stays tighten the lace-up fit without adding bulk, and a perforated microfiber tongue sits flat against the foot through long hours. Rubber outsole pads grip pavement, packed trail edges, and gym floors equally well.

The Cloudmonster Void is a genuinely versatile shoe, and the Fog | Pearl colorway pushes that versatility further. Heavier runners, those returning from injury, nurses and educators spending hours on their feet, and weekend runners building mileage will all find something useful here. If you need a shoe that absorbs the day and stays out of the way visually, this is it.

Finally a max-cushion shoe that does not look like a spaceship

I have been running in maximalist shoes for years but always felt self-conscious wearing them anywhere other than a trail. The Fog Pearl colorway on the Cloudmonster Void is so toned down that I wore them to my kid's school pickup and nobody batted an eye. On the run itself, the CloudTec cushioning is everything I hoped for, bouncy on the landing and surprisingly snappy at the toe. My go-to for easy long runs now.

Twelve-hour shifts just got more manageable

I stand and walk on hospital floors for upwards of twelve hours at a stretch, and foot fatigue used to hit me hard by hour eight. I switched to the Cloudmonster Void about two months ago and the difference is real. The cushioning absorbs all that repeated impact in a way my previous shoes never did, and the breathable upper keeps my feet from overheating under the compression socks. The Fog color also looks professional enough that I get compliments on them rather than questions.

Eased me back into running without complaint

After six months off with plantar fasciitis, my podiatrist told me to prioritize cushioning and a rocker geometry for my return. The Cloudmonster Void checked every box. The CloudTec pods take the edge off hard heel strikes, and the forward roll built into the sole means I am not grinding through a flat landing anymore. I am back to twenty miles a week and my foot has held up without any setback.

Quiet enough to wear everywhere, capable enough for real training

I have about a dozen pairs of running shoes and the Cloudmonster Void in Fog Pearl has become the one I reach for on recovery days. The neutral colorway means it pairs with actual clothes, not just running kit. But it is genuinely a performance shoe too, the Speedboard keeps my stride rolling and the cushioning feels fresh even after ten miles. Love that On kept the branding minimal on this one.

Solid daily trainer for bigger guys

At two hundred and forty pounds, I tend to compress through softer midsoles quickly and they stop feeling cushioned within a few months. The Cloudmonster Void has held up better than I expected, still feeling supportive and responsive after two months of four to five day weeks. My one note is that I wished the toe box were just a touch wider, but sizing up a half size took care of most of it. The Fog Pearl looks sharp and understated, exactly what I wanted.

The shoe for people who hate picking shoes

I wear these from the train to the office and then run home in them three times a week. The Fog and Pearl tones are neutral enough that they go with my work bag and my running shorts equally well. The haptic mesh is soft against my foot all day, and the CloudTec cushioning on my evening runs feels genuinely different from cheaper foam shoes I have worn. Very glad I made this particular choice.

My long run shoe for the foreseeable future

Training for my third marathon and I have been rotating the Cloudmonster Void into my long run days where I need maximum comfort over speed. The cushioning holds up over eighteen to twenty mile efforts in a way that firmer racing shoes obviously do not. I especially appreciate that the Speedboard keeps me moving forward efficiently even when my legs start to tire late in a long run. The Fog Pearl is low-key but good-looking, which is a win in my book.

Versatile and comfortable, a few caveats on fit

I use these for the gym and for three to six mile weekend runs, and they handle both well. The CloudTec cushioning is very noticeable on treadmill runs and feels great for functional movements where I am on my feet but not necessarily running. My only reservation is that the fit around the midfoot felt slightly loose before I experimented with a tighter lacing pattern, which solved it. The Fog Pearl color has gotten several compliments and the minimalist On branding is a nice change from loud logos.
