Key features

On Cloudmonster 2 - Cream | Horizon Biggest-Ever CloudTec Cushioning

Biggest-Ever CloudTec Cushioning

On's largest CloudTec pods compress precisely on landing and rebound firmly through toe-off, delivering a cushioned feel that does not come at the cost of ground feedback.

On Cloudmonster 2 - Cream | Horizon Dual-Density Helion Superfoam

Dual-Density Helion Superfoam

The reworked Helion midsole uses two densities of superfoam to create a livelier, bouncier ride than the original Cloudmonster, adding measurable energy return with each stride.

On Cloudmonster 2 - Cream | Horizon Nylon-Blend Speedboard Propulsion

Nylon-Blend Speedboard Propulsion

A full-length Speedboard made from a nylon blend is shaped specifically to generate forward momentum, turning stored energy into powerful, efficient take-offs.

Product story

Built to Go Further, Designed to Stand Out

The Cream | Horizon colorway is not a neutral choice disguised as one. The warm cream base and the cool horizon blue accent are calibrated to work together, a pairing that feels considered on the road and deliberate on the shelf. It is the kind of shoe you will reach for on a long Sunday run partly because it performs and partly because you want to wear it.

At the core of the Cloudmonster 2 is On's biggest-ever CloudTec configuration, hollow cushioning pods engineered to compress under your foot strike and then rebound sharply. Beneath those pods, reworked dual-density Helion superfoam adds a livelier bounce than the previous generation. The result is a ride that feels plush at the moment of landing and responsive at the moment of push-off, two qualities that usually trade off against each other.

A nylon-blend Speedboard runs the full length of the shoe, shaped specifically for propulsion and the kind of forward roll that keeps your pace honest over long miles. A foam insert in the forefoot absorbs the repetitive impact that accumulates over high-mileage weeks, protecting joints without deadening the energy return the rest of the shoe is built to deliver. Together these layers make the Cloudmonster 2 a genuine tool for distance training, not just a comfortable everyday shoe.

The Cloudmonster 2 in Cream | Horizon suits women who run consistently and want a shoe that can carry a tempo effort on Tuesday and a two-hour long run on Saturday without asking them to swap footwear. It also suits the runner coming back from a minor injury who needs real cushioning without sacrificing the propulsion that keeps a return-to-mileage plan on track. If your training log is serious, this shoe is built to match it.

Runner notes

Why this pair keeps getting picked.

Natural feedback shaped around the fit, colorway, and ride profile of this exact product.

Best long-run shoe I have owned in years

I have been building up to Chicago and these have been my go-to shoe for every run over 14 miles. The cushioning is genuinely different from anything else in my rotation, it absorbs the late-mile fatigue in a way I can feel the next morning. The Cream | Horizon colorway looks sharp too, which is a small thing but you want to feel good about what you are lacing up.

Finally a cushioned shoe that does not feel sluggish

I gave up on max-cushion shoes a few years ago because they always felt like running in sand. The Cloudmonster 2 changed that for me. The foam has real rebound and the Speedboard keeps the ride feeling quick. I wear these five days a week and my knees have been much happier since switching.

Priya Raghavan

Daily runner, Austin

Eased my comeback mileage significantly

My physio recommended a max-cushion shoe while I rebuilt mileage after a shin injury, and I landed on these based on a recommendation from a friend. The impact absorption is noticeably better than what I was wearing before, and I have been able to increase my weekly distance without the soreness I expected. The fit is secure without being tight.

Not a running shoe I wear for running

I bought these for 12-hour shifts after a colleague raved about the cushioning. I know they are running shoes but the Cloudmonster 2 is the most comfortable thing I have put on my feet at work in 10 years. My lower back feels noticeably better at the end of a double shift. The cream colorway holds up surprisingly well under the hospital lighting.

Carolyn Whitfield

Hospital nurse, Nashville

Strong shoe with one minor fit note

These are outstanding for anything over an hour. The energy return from the foam is real and I have knocked a couple of minutes off my long run pace just from feeling better in the final miles. The only reason I am giving four stars is that the toe box felt slightly narrow at first, though it did loosen after about 20 miles.

Tamara Espinoza

Half-marathon runner, San Antonio

Finally feels like enough cushioning

At 185 pounds most cushioned shoes feel compressed by mile four. The Cloudmonster 2 holds up across the full run in a way I have not experienced before. The dual-density foam clearly matters for someone with my build. I have done up to 16 miles in these and my hips and knees felt fine the next day.

Heavier runner, Minneapolis

Wear these everywhere, not just on runs

I run three times a week and commute on foot the rest of the time, so I needed one shoe that could handle both. The Cloudmonster 2 in this colorway is neutral enough to wear with most outfits but interesting enough that people ask about it. The sole holds up well on wet Seattle pavement and the cushioning has not noticeably changed after four months of near-daily use.

Sarah Nkemdirim

Recreational runner and commuter, Seattle

Converted me from a minimalist shoe

I spent three years convinced I wanted ground feel and ran in thin-soled shoes the whole time. My coach finally pushed me toward the Cloudmonster 2 for recovery runs and now I understand what I was missing. The propulsion the Speedboard adds means I do not feel slow despite all the cushioning underneath me. I am now wearing these for more than just recovery days.
