Product story

Built Bigger, Built Better

The Cloudmonster 2 in Glacier and Tangerine is easy to spot on a morning run, and that is intentional. The cool, icy glacier tone across the upper is punctuated by a warm tangerine hit at the outsole and lace detail, giving this colorway a visual energy that matches what the shoe does underfoot. It is a deliberate pairing, not an afterthought.

On redesigned the Cloudmonster from the ground up for this generation. The biggest-ever CloudTec pods compress on landing and spring back with each step, while the reworked dual-density Helion superfoam adds a layer of bounce that the previous version simply did not have. A foam insert in the forefoot absorbs impact before the Speedboard takes over, converting that compression into forward momentum.

This shoe is built for road running: long easy miles, long run weekends, and recovery days where you still want to move well. The rocker geometry encourages a natural forward roll so your legs are not fighting the shoe. Runners who train through high mileage weeks will notice the cushioning holds up through mile 14 as well as it did through mile one.

The Cloudmonster 2 suits anyone who wants maximum cushioning without sacrificing the feeling that the shoe is working with them. Heavier runners, runners returning from injury, and anyone who simply values comfort over a minimal racing feel will find a lot here. The Glacier and Tangerine colorway is available in mens sizing.

Best long run shoe I have owned

I picked up the Cloudmonster 2 in Glacier and Tangerine after reading about the updated CloudTec pods and I am genuinely impressed. My 18-miler last weekend felt better at mile 16 than it usually does at mile 10. The tangerine detail looks sharp in person, and the glacier upper stays clean surprisingly well.

The cushioning is different in the best way

I have been through four pairs of max-cushion shoes over the last two years and the Cloudmonster 2 has a feel unlike the others. The pods actually compress and push back, so it does not feel like you are sinking into the shoe. I run about 35 miles a week on pavement and this has quickly become my go-to.

Got me back on the road comfortably

After six months off with a knee issue my physical therapist cleared me to start running again slowly. She specifically mentioned looking for max cushioning and the Cloudmonster 2 delivered. The rocker geometry takes pressure off my knee on the push-off. I am back to 20 miles a week and feeling confident.

Finally a shoe that holds up for bigger runners

At 230 pounds I go through shoes fast and the foam compresses out within a few months on most brands. Three months in on the Cloudmonster 2 and the cushioning still feels close to day one. The dual-density Helion foam must be doing its job. The Glacier colorway is clean and the tangerine pop gives it some personality.

Not just for running, honestly

I wore these for a 12-hour shift on hard hospital floors before I ever took them on a run. The cushioning held up the entire shift and my feet were not wrecked by the end. Now I rotate them between runs and long shifts. The On Cloudmonster 2 is doing double duty in my life and handling both well.

Solid upgrade from my last pair

Coming from the first Cloudmonster I can feel the difference in the updated foam immediately. There is more spring and the cushioning feels more structured. The fit around my heel is snug and secure. I took a half star off only because the toe box feels slightly narrower than my last pair, which took a week or two to break in properly.

Makes 6am runs feel possible

I am not a morning person but I started looking forward to early runs when I switched to the Cloudmonster 2. The Glacier and Tangerine color combination is genuinely attractive and the ride is smooth enough that my legs do not protest the early start. The Speedboard does something real, you can feel the difference on the push-off.

Versatile and comfortable for everyday wear

I wear these for a 2-mile commute run in the morning and then use them in the gym when I am not lifting heavy. The cushioning is excellent for treadmill work and the upper looks polished enough to not feel out of place commuting. The tangerine accent is subtle in lower light but pops in sunlight, which I appreciate. Would recommend for anyone wanting one shoe that crosses over well.
